Im Back! All About My Three Month Hiatus

Hello beautiful humans! I am so excited to finally feel able to start blogging again. I am sure that many of you are wondering… why the break in the first place? Well, let’s dive in.

Only a little over a week after launching Cazmera, I left for a two month study abroad in London, England. My intention was to get away from everything and everyone I knew and fully put my focus into growing myself and the blog. That idea was wonderful, but what I quickly realized was that it was also completely unrealistic. The first two weeks I was in London I was chronically exhausted. I took every possible break, even the ten minute ones, to rest. The fatigue smoothly transitioned into illness. What was probably bronchitis turned into a triple infection in my ears (yes, both), throat, and sinus areas. I was essentially on bed rest for two weeks of my trip. Even after all of this, when I was, “cleared,” from all ailments, the exhaustion and splitting headaches stayed with me. Do not get me wrong, I loved my time in Europe. I forced myself into making the most of it and adventuring out a little every day (except my two week slumber). The point of telling you all of this is I did not feel able to add on blogging to my list of things to do in Europe.

I felt really guilty about this choice at first. I had just begun blogging and taking a pause so soon seemed like a failure. As fate would have it, I stumbled on Caroline Myss’s life-altering book, “Anatomy of the Spirit.” She translates disease into, “dis-ease,” meaning your soul is NOT at ease, or in other words, is out of balance. In her book, Myss refers to the chakra system to break down different ways one’s soul can be unaligned. When the soul off, the mind and body follow in suit. All of this being said, I still have no clue what was off within me. I went into this newfound mindset having not an inkling of a clue what I needed to work on, but I knew taking a step back to focus on me was more important than ever when it came to my healing. So I stopped feeling ashamed for breaking so early on in blogging, and when that happened, I got a triple infection.

Yes, you read that right. I did not automatically get better, I got worse. For whatever reason, I needed to. It’s been almost two months since the peak of my illness. I’m still sick. From antibiotic regimens to just about every piece of advice doctors could give me, my four month long cough, chronic fatigue, and shaky appetite is still with me. Three days ago, I woke up with the urge to start blogging again. I felt in my heart that it is time. After talking it over with close friends, I realized that my body was lighting up. I had more energy than I have had in months from sheer excitement. Of course then I crashed, slept like a baby for about ten hours, but who cares. I had energy. I was excited.

So, welcome back to Cazmera. I am so happy you are here!
